Instagram Will Share Revenue With Creators Trough IGTV Ads
For the first time in its history Instagram will share revenues with creators and influencers through IGTV Ads. The platform will share an “industry standard” 55% cut with creators which is the same figure Facebook grants to its influencers. To be able to monetize on the platform creators have to adhere to the Instagram monetization policy, which will ensure that ads appear in front of appropriate content and encourage influencers to use appropriate language and material.

Facebook Launches Facebook Shops For E-commerce
To help small businesses Facebook launches Facebook Shops, a feature that will allow them to turn their profiles into digital storefronts. E-commerce is on the rise, so this is an excellent opportunity for these companies to set up their online stores on the platform and communicate directly with their customers through Whatsapp, Messenger and Instagram Direct.
Facebook also ensures that they will not store information about individuals and stores they visit unless they give permission.

Facebook Launches Audio Calling App CatchUp
Although there are many calling apps these days, what sets this new Facebook platform apart is that it is audio-only. CatchUp will allow users to make calls with up to 8 people and let them know when a friend or family member is “Ready to Talk” with on-screen notifications. This new app will not require a Facebook account, as it will use your phone contact list.

Google Ads Creates Retail Category Feature
Google Ads has added a new reporting feature for e-commerce users that includes the Retail Category performance depending on where the ad was displayed: in Shopping or Search. While this information was available on the platform, it will now be easier for retailers to obtain these metrics without having to plan specific campaign names to identify them.

Instagram Allows Users To Create Messenger Rooms
Facebook extends the use of its video call platform, Messenger Rooms, to Instagram. From now on you’ll be able to create rooms from the Instagram Direct section and invite anyone to join. Since messenger is a separate app, once you start a room with other users on Instagram you will have to switch to the Facebook messaging platform.
